Hi Betsy,

It's my pleasure to share, warts and all.

As new as social media are for most of us, we just have to start splashing around and making waves.

And we have to be honest about how things work so we can step wisely into the future.

Social media is not going away. Either we dip our toes in the water, we jump in, or we get left at the shore. It's all a choice, and the right choice depends upon what you most want to accomplish and how best to reach your ideal customer.

As for me, I am splashing around, sharing what works and what doesn't.

Ultimately, I believe that the integration of my traditional PR and social networking efforts will be the best approach to deliver the greatest impact for my clients and for my own business. One without the other doesn't seem like enough in today's dynamic media environment.

Keep splashing away!

Nancy, I love that you shared a "real world" example of how social media worked for you. Too often the self-proclaimed social media gurus tell you to invest all kinds of time into social media without letting you know how or why this is good for you and your business. You have just shown us how it can work and what kind of time to invest - thank you!
